Maldigestion.: We all pass gas sometimes. Excessive gas without diarrhea often indicates incomplete digestion of food in the small intestine. Most common cause for excess gas is lactose intolerance also called lactase deficiency. If your mom eats dairy ask her to try avoiding all milk & dairy products for a week. She can also try lactaid milk. Another common cause are drugs that lower cholesterol.
