Usually: Some patients taking Isotretinoin (accutane) for acne have complained of poor night vision and abnormal adaptation to the dark. It is a fairly rare side effect, and usually reverses on stopping the drug. There have been found to be abnormal dark adaptation curves and electroretinogram (erg) responses, indicating a true effect on the retina. Repetitive courses of treatment increased the risk.
