Don't waste your $$: All scars go through a process of maturation that can take up to a year. Initially, surgical scars look good but may get more prominent, redder and itchier at 6-8 weeks, when their blood flow peaks. They will start to fade after that. I usually recommend nothing for scar treatment (except sun avoidance) in my patients unless the scar does not seem to be maturing normally.
