Extractions or endo: The only way to clear tooth infection , either extractions or root canal if it's caused by necrotic pulp, or perio surgery if it's caused by gum infection. You need to know the cause of the tooth infection to render a correct answer , antibiotic do help but will not clear it

Temporarily: If the infection is stemming from a tooth or the gums around a tooth, antibiotics may help reduce symptoms temporarily. The source of infection must be addressed by a dentist to remove the source of infection.

No, need treatment: Antibiotics alone will not cure an abcessed tooth. You will need treatment for this tooth. The doctor or dentist that prescribed the antibiotics most likely made a recommendation that you get treatment. This is essential. The infection will come back if you don't follow up, with treatment.
