Maybe fracture: Rib. Chest wall xray, may not have been rib xrays, which are better at picking up fractures. May ask your doctor to order rib series. Sprain/strain/bruising of intercoastal muscles from seat-belt, or interior of car likely cause.

Get a check up: You may had bruised lung. Please contact your doctor and discuss about the pain and need for repeating chest x-ray.
