Hepatitis B: Not sure what the so-called confirmatory test was, but as a general rule having hepatitis b surface antigen means that you have the disease. You may be in the early window period before the development of antibodies, although anticore antibody usually happens early in the course of the disease and is confirmatory. You might go ahead and take the vaccine and see if the hepb ab becomes positive.
