Extreme Anxiety: If your suffering from extreme anxiety you should consult a mental health professional as soon as possible who specializes in treating anxiety. Remember in the interim that anxiety is often caused by misperception of reality, reading fear into situations when in fact you are safe. Confide in friends and share your worries, but surely ask your doctor for a mental health referral. Best wishes.

Anxiety: It is advisable to get a physical exam with your Primary Care Physician to rule out underlying illness that could cause these symptoms. If you are not ill, anxiety can cause harm to your body leading to higher blood pressure, faster heart beat, shallower breathing, etc. It is recommended that you consult with a Clinical Psychologist for Psychotherapy and a Psychiatrist additionally for medication.
