Is it safe to use hydrocortisone in the ear for inner ear itching?

Best not use Q-tips: Hydrocortisone is a medication with adverse consequences if not used appropriately. Most people have ear itching from chronic q-tip use, effectively stripping the ear canal of lubricating properties of ear wax. I recommend olive oil or mineral oil to my patients and tell them to stop using q-tips. See your doctor or ENT for exam and recommendations.
