Good hearing: It suggests that your ears, acoustic nerves and the area of the brain receiving these impulses are all working exceptionally well. You may be able to minimize the distraction by concentrating more intensely on what you are doing at the moment. The nervous phenomenon of "extinction" will reduce your perception of sounds if your brain is more intensely occupied thinking about something else.

Evaluation: Everyone varies in hearing and just about anything so this could be normal for you. You may need to get an evaluation to see if there is something else going on.

Too focused?: Try these. Distract yourself & listen to your favorite music, do yoga, meditation, tai ichi; engage in sports, try playing on the wii, do slow, deep breathing exercises, watch a funny movie this weekend, or come to vegas and watch great shows!
