See details: One really needs to determine the cause of the pain. If it is truly a secondary osteoarthritis, have injectable lubricants been tried? Arthroscopic surgeries for osteoarthritis to "clean things up" generally will at best provide only short term benefit. There are other surgical procedures available but knee replacement at such a young age should be avoided if at all possible.

Talk to MD: You need to see an orthopedic surgeon to discuss this case. They will be able to talk about various options from a simple arthroscopy operation to more complicated procedures. Together you can choose the right option for you.
