See details: One really needs to determine the cause of the pain. If it is truly a secondary osteoarthritis, have injectable lubricants been tried? Arthroscopic surgeries for osteoarthritis to "clean things up" generally will at best provide only short term benefit. There are other surgical procedures available but knee replacement at such a young age should be avoided if at all possible.
