Varies: It varies somewhat based upon surgical technique, surgeons preference, and how comfortable you are with his school environment. In general, the surgery could be thought of as having as small fracture. There will be some initial, fairly mild discomfort, but will also need to be protected about 8 weeks. In my hands, students can return to safe school environment 7-14 days postop. Ask your md.
