Edema or bone: If it feels hard like bone then it very well might be your bone structure. However there are presentations of swelling or edema, such as brawny edema that can feel rather dense to touch. I'm envisioning that you have a high arch foot and if you have been wearing very high heels, it can actually accentuate your arch structure.

See a DPM: Don't guess what it could be. Consider going to the podiatrist to have a comprehensive foot examination which will many times include an evaluation as well as x-rays. There's no harm in having it checked by the expert.
