Usually not: It depends on the reason and what type of bacteria is causing the infection, but usually it can be treated with either oral or IV antibiotics , rare now a days that u would need a hysterectomy.

Rarely: Uterine infection is treated aggressively with antibiotics. This therapy is curative in an overwhelming majority of cases. However, some uterine infections are so severe that a hysterectomy is required. This occurs very rarely.
