Coccydynia: Coccydynia, pain in the coccyx or tailbone area, two main causes for this condition are sudden impact due to fall and caused by childbirth pressure in women. Partial dislocation of the sacrococcygeal synchondrosis can possibly result in abnormal movement and pain. Relief of symptoms may occur with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. Should see physician for history and exam.
