Do patients ever require surgery to remove excess or diseased tissue? Of course. But that is not to say that is what you would require. See your own dentist to evaluate what you are feeling. Yes, very possible.: Sometimes a person can bite their cheek and a little flap of tissue remains after the area heals. This flap of tissue can be very annoying and a person may even tend to bite this tissue when eating. Other causes of this extra tissue can also be the cause. Please ask your dentist to determine if any treatment is needed and discuss your options.
