Sores on lips, fever: What was the diagnosis from your dentist? It sounds like a herpes simplex viral infection. If so, there is no treatment other than to treat the symptoms. The infection usually heals in 10-14 days. Ask your doctor for a prescription for an anti viral med. Do not kiss anyone, do not have oral sex, and do not share items such as silverware, cups, towels, and lip balms.
