A member asked:

Can you get hepatitis c from your mother?even if you had all the vacs for it?could it cause inflamation of the cns or peripherl neuropathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No vaccines for HepC: There are no vaccines available to prevent hepatitis c. There are vaccines to prevent hepa and hepb, so one should get those vaccines from her doctor. One can catch hepc through contact with the blood of another person who just developed hepc or is a carrier of hepc, even if that hepc-infected person happen's to be one's mother.
