See below: The neuropathy could be from the nerve block, but could also be from the surgery itself. It is possible that the needle could have damaged the nerve, though this is less likely with the use of ultrasound. The use of retractors and surgical instruments can also damage the nerve. Please check with your anesthesiologist and surgeon to get their opinions.
