A lot of them: Most Plastic Surgeons will have different preferences. Generally absorbable sutures like Vicryl, Monocryl, and PDS are used in closing the incision ( fascia, fat, skin) and are under the skin. I have used permanent suture like Ethibond or Prolene to close or tighten the abdominal wall muscles. The answer would vary though with each surgeon to a degree.
