Carefully : Hydroquinone creams sometime contains preservatives such as sulfites that can cause eyelid irritation in some people. You can test a small area for a few days to make sure it doesn't irritate. In addition, prolonged use can cause a paradoxical increase in discoloration known as exogenous ochronosis. Limit the use to at most 2-3 weeks continuously. Clinique eye cream can also be effective.

Some issues: Hydroquinone 2% is available topically over the counter in some countries and is banned in some. 4% is available by prescription. Care should be used around the eyes because the skin tends to be thinner than in other areas and may be more prone to having a reaction or adverse effect. Consultation with a dermatologist on how to treat dark eye circles may be the best course.
