A 44-year-old member asked:

is there a way to lose thigh fat and hip fat in 1week?

Thigh fat: Losing a significant amount of weight from any part of your body on a week is both difficult to do and unhealthy to try to achieve. You want to work at it gradually and persistently by eating healthy and exercising regularly. Doing this should yield noticeable results in 4-6 weeks. Cardio (elliptical, treadmill, spinning) will help reduce fat and trim up your hips and thighs.

Agree w Dr. Nishi.: Spot fat loss does not occur naturally. By losing weight in general a certain amt will be thigh/ hip fat. Eat healthfully ; be physically active. Calories burned must > calories consumed. Tone thighs w plie, squat, wall squat, ball squat, plyometric squat, stair steps, lunges, lunges w dumbbells, ball squeeze ; single leg circle. Exercises to tone your butt include plie, dumbell squats, squat w.

How can a lose hip and thigh fat? Are there any certain foods or exercises i can do

All over fat loss: Spot fat loss doesn't work. When you lose fat, it is lost from all over, not just over the hips and thighs (or any other "problem area"). Exercises for a particular body part will strengthen the underlying muscles, which will make that particular area look better however. Here's a link to some good thigh exercises: http://www.Fitnessmagazine.Com/workout/thighs/exercises/top-thigh-exercises/.

Several options: Exercises that will strengthen, tone and condition for hip, butt and thigh muscles include walking, swimming, bicycling, and training on a recumbent bike or elliptical trainer. In order to achieve a goal of healthier butt/thigh/hips, you will need to commit to a regular and consistent program.

Diet and exercise: Diet and exercise will help. The exercise should be both aerobic and strength training. A low carbohydrate will help with weight loss.

Nerve pinching: Could most likely have moderate nerve compression over lateral hip affecting lateral femoral cutaneous nerve of thigh, and level of compression increases with certain positions. Maybe avoid tight objects around waist, consider having your doctor evaluate this. (far less likely, lumbar stenosis or disc problem).

Spot fat loss does: Not occur naturally. By losing weight in general some will probably be thigh fat. But, we don't get to choose what area of body fat is lost from. Eat healthy ; be physically active. Calories burned must > those consumed. Tone thighs w plie, squat, wall squat, ball squat, plyometric squat, stair steps, lunges, lunges w dumbbells, ball squeeze ; single leg circle. Exercises to tone your butt >.
