Not really: If the cholesterol medication is working and your cholesterol is at goal then you will need to stay on the medication to maintain this . The medication is monitered by lab work for liver and muscle damage. Ofcourse symptoms are monitered as well. Unless a secondary cause of the high cholesterol is found and fixed, most are on the drug for life& coming off the med will only cause the chol to rise.
