Type 2: Diabetes may seem to appear suddenly, but it generally develops over 5-15 years of being obese, Insulin resistant -> prediabetes -> diabetes. Don't wait, lose weight now. The appearance of diabetes may look sudden if someone is stressed by infection, surgery, cortisone, etc. But the predisposition was already there and just got accelerated a bit.
