Don't: Change your life to treat the medication. Live your life and change the dose of the medication based upon what your activity is going to be. Think proactive. You have to be more important than the medication. Check glucose during exercise and treat with juice, milk, glucose tablets as needed, not w/food.

Complex carbs. : Try to eat a light meal of complex carbohydrates and fiber about two hours before exercising. This will hopefully assure that you'll have an adequate supply of carbohydrates to avoid hypoglycemia during exercise. You should check your blood sugar after exercising as a gauge to make sure your carbohydrate supply is carrying you through.
