Usually it's fast: Usually, if it would cause anything it would be fast heart beat, if very high and associated with diabetic ketoacidosis (dka), but if it's severe, especially at the level of hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome (hhs) then it can be associated with slow heart beat - but then you'd be severely ill with a reduced level of consciousness.
