Long-term struggle: Bpd stands for "borderline personality disorder" and it is a long standing set of traits that cause much interpersonal suffering in the person who has bpd and often the people around them. People with bpd very often have histories of trauma and deeply fear being abandoned on the one hand and getting to close to someone on the other. Having bpd can easily lead to depression.

Mismatch: Think of any personality disorder as the mismatch between present stress and the habitual coping skills used to deal with them, that stems from the said coping skills having developed during childhood as a result of attempting to survive/thrive psychologically despite significant dysfunction in family, esp in primary caregiver (parents in most situations). Bpd is one such kind of mismatch.

Borderline me: I would be sensitive to criticism, quick to react, my moods fluctuate, I do things before thinking about consequences, i would have hard time finding stability in relationships, and i would have low self-esteem & poor self-image. If I am not in treatment, i might inflict self injuries to get relief of tension.
