Combine-Separate!: You can separate both activities, by lifting or doing resistance exercise, and alternating it with cardio-running, cycling, elliptical, etc. Or you can circuit weight train 5 days per week and obtain the benefits of both. Circuit weight training requires a heart rate monitor to ensure your heart rate is at 70% of hr max, before you start your next activity!
