Dr. Michael Miller answered

Specializes in Wound care

Expertise : After any surgery, the surgeon will follow up after a short time to make sure all is well. Most have their staff call after discharge to make sure all is well. Telling them that you have uncontrolled pain, persistent fevers, nausea, vomiting, etc (if indeed you do ! ) is important to make sure all is going well. Many things seem abnormal to patients that are in fact, normal parts of healing.
