A member asked:

Can there be any difference between g.e.r.d, heartburn, and acid reflux?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reflux: Gerd or gastroesophageal reflux disease is a disease where the valve between the esophagus and stomach doesn't stay closed. This allows stomach content to enter the esophagus. When acid enters, it can be painful. This is heartburn.
