A 31-year-old member asked:

Is swelling around a puncture wound considered normal?

Yes, but..: While all injuries get some swelling, swelling can also be a sign of bleeding underneath the skin, or infection. Best to get evaluated by an md to make sure these complications are not occurring.
Dr. Barry Cohen
Plastic Surgery 34 years experience
Yes: Be careful about infection. Get it checked!
