A member asked:

How can you safely get a tattoo with von willebrands disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I say "Yes": I am going to assume you do not have the severe type iii disease. If you test for it, von willebrand's is extremely common, some say as many as one person in 100. Today's tattooing techniques do not cause most people to bleed at all. My nih database search showed no reports of adverse effects. If you are sure you want it & have for a few years, go head. Even better -- ask your hematologist.
