Depends on variables: In younger infants toddlers, most recommend repair within a few weeks on a non emergent basis. In older conversational kids and adolescents some of the same recommendations apply.However, if the hernia is minor and easily reduced, scheduling can be done to accommodate school schedules.Most are done as day surgery and recovery is relatively quick.
