It can be: Its not uncommon to have some light bleeding post coital once you resume sex after a hysterectomy. Hopefully you have waited the full 6 weeks. However, if it persists or gets worse consider having your gyn take a quick look in the office. Sometimes friable granulation tissue may need treated with silver nitrate to end the bleeding.

No: No it is not. How soon after the surgery did not have sexual intercourse? You do have to wait for a period of time so the incisions can heal properly. Speak with the doctor who performed the surgery.

No: It is not terribly unusual to have bleeding post hysterectomy, but it is abnormal. Possible causes include a small collection of blood at the top of the vagina, or incomplete healing at the top of the vagina. These problems are easily fixed by your gynecologist.
