It could just be: Musculoskeletal pain. See your dr for reassurance to be sure there's no rib fracture, lung clots, pleurisy/ inflamed lining of lung, heart condition (less likely) etc. Take care!

Rib pain: If it occurs with breathing it could be an irritation on the lining of your lungs, known as pleurisy. In that area with your symptom the leading cause of such a pain is trauma and either a fractured rib or bone bruise. Without any trauma if the pain persists or increases in frequency, duration, or severity then you should seek further medical evaluation.
