So much research is going on stem cells.are these cells being used for creating mesh used for hernia repair that can last a lifetime?

Good question: But I am not aware other use for this purpose and I am not sure if thismismbeing evaluated. It would likely require a temporary mesh that would be impregnated with stem cells that formed fibrous tissue while the mesh provided temporary structural support. Current investigations focus in their use following chemotherapy, and for nerve or muscle regeneration following injury.
