I woke up this morning with pain in my left ankle, but went to bed with no pain. it is swollen, tender to the touch, and hard to walk on. what's wrong

Acute flare up: I would suggest an acute gout attack, however, this condition is very unusual for a 17 year old female. It may just be an insect bite or perhaps a misstep from the day before that became painful overnight. If it does not improve in 24-48 hours i would suggest having it looked at.
