Maybe,maybe not: One of my joys at being a pediatrician is i deal with murmurs enough to know when they are likely innocent and when they represent a problem. Most found in normally growing kids are benign. The bad ones are usually picked up at birth or the first few months and represent abnormal heart structure. Your gp likely sent you to be sure s/he is not overlooking something important.

No.: The vast majority of murmurs in healthy 2 year olds are benign or "functional." go get it checked by the cardiologist though -- it will give you peace of mind.
