Ankle pain: Unless you can remember some trauma to the site it is probably not a sprain. Xrays are indicated here to evaluate for arthritis , bone chip(s) , boney position, etc. Seek the help of a podiatrist. Good luck !

Could be: There could be many reasons and a sprain is one of them. Due to your age, it's unlikely to be anything more serious, but can you give more detail about your history? If you're unable to walk due to the pain, it may be a serious pathology. Please see a doctor if affects your daily life.
