Can you get lactose intolerance after having food poisoning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: This is a very good question. It's fairly common for lactose intolerance that's genetically programmed to be unmasked after a bowel infection, and even if you're not going to be lactose-intolerant long-term, it can take a while for the disaccharidase molecules to be restored on the cells of the small intestine.
