Numb toe: It is likely related. We all have small nerves that run below the surface of our skin. Pressure on these nerves can temporarily cut of their blood supply or compress them so they do not adequately transmit sensation - so-called compression neuropathy. I suggest not wearing any tight fitting shoes for at least a week. The sensation should begin to return in a few days.

Numbness: The numbness could be related to the shoes. If the shoes are tight, they could impinge upon the small nerves of the toe and cause temporary damage. I would expect this numbness to return over the next few days as long as you can avoid tight shoes. If the numbness continues, contact a podiatrist.

Sensory changes: Another name : paresthesias. Direct trauma to your feet. Nerve damage from long-term diabetes (> 10 years). Other neurologic diseases (like multiple sclerosis, spinal cord damage, stroke, etc...). Sometimes a specific cause is not found through the battery of testing. Please talk with your primary care doctor and work on learning the cause of this problem together.
