A member asked:

Do alchohol and spices contribute in increasing the size of prostate gland, or interfere in the effect of alfuzosin hydrochlride?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Alcohol has no effect on prostate size. It may make you more likely to have dizziness when taking alfuzosin, but probably doesn't decrease it's effectiveness. Alcohol is a diuretic (it makes your kidneys produce more urine), so it will worsen your urinary symptoms such as frequency. Additionally, alcohol and spicy foods are bladder irritants that may cause you to have feelings of urgency.
