See her provider : If your daughter has history of recurrent tonsil infections you want to be able to document if these are caused by streptococcus. This can only be confirmed by a throat swab. There are many other infections, most of them viral, that can cause a fever and most of these need no rx medication. Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen) can bring down fever. Her provider can determine if viral or bacterial.
