Forget the fever...: ...Doe she need any medication that is actually important - antibiotic or antiviral such as oseltamivir? Antibiotics can be life-savers in some cases; they can sometimes be given as injections. But giving fever reducing medication to a child is mostly done to manage anxiety in parents; the prognosis or outcome of an illness does not depend on whether or not fever medicine is given.

Be in charge...: Well, make sure she stays well hydrated - that is, drink plenty of fluids. Now, she should also be seen by a professional if her fever is persistent or abnormally high. You should be able to get her to take some liquid tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen - even if she doesn't really like it. Watch for change in alertness, headache , or stiff neck. Good luck.
