Pressure over bones: Our skin is made to take pressure, deeper tissues are not. When you lost weight, you also lost some of the deeper fatty protective tissue and now any pressure/friction /shearing directly pushes your skin into the spine causing injury. You need to protect this area by applying a good protective skin cream or simple dressings until healed. Reposition yourself frequently or use a cushion to the area.
