Not Serious: If your doctor dismisses these, they are probably not anything serious. If you are still concerned over what they are you may ask your physician to perform a punch biopsy on them. Have him do this on one that is in a hidden area in case of scaring. Another option would be to get a second opinion from a dermatologist.

Ask family members: In the absence of associated pain, rapid growth or any discharge from these lumps there is no urgency to have them removed. Possibilities include include cysts or lipomas(benign fatty tumors) but a biopsy would give more information. These types of lesions can be associated with inherited conditions so it's useful to ask family members if they have similar lesions, then follow up with your doctor.

Lipomas: The may be benign tumors called lipomas or fatty tumors. If you are older, if one of these grow, they could be a malignant form, liposarcoma. It is often better to have one biopsied to get a diagnosis and know for sure.
