Brush and floss: Plaque which is soft (unlike calculus which is hard) can be removed with proper tooth brushing and flossing.

Brush: Just so we are talking about the same thing, plaque is the soft stuff that easily comes off, and tartar is the calcified stuff. We all get plaque, every day, and if you notice it on your teeth, it is only there because you miss it when you brush or floss. Refine your technique and see what happens!
