Implants: Over the course of your life dental implants will not only help you function better (eating, smiling, kissing, talking, confidence) but also prevent bone loss where teeth have been extracted. The only good replacement for missing teeth is dental implants pretty much everything else is a compromise. Ask an 80 or 90 year old what would they do.

Good question: Dental implants are 95 percent successful and there is no other treatment in dentistry that successful if placed correctly. I recommend implants if you are healthy and can afford the treatment.

Dental implants: Dental implants are superior in that they preserve bone, do not place stress on the adjacent teeth, make oral hygiene much easier and maintain the supporting bone. Removable dentures do not share these attributes.

Yes: Many people wear and do well with removable dentures and partials, many have problems with them. They are never like real teeth. You can never eat as well with removable teeth. With implants you can eat whatever foods you like without problems. They are very long lasting and worth the investment you will make. Many patients finance their implants and are happy they didn't wait longer.

Save: Implants will give you better function, help maintain bone levels and likely last your lifetime. Even though you may replace the teeth on top, the implant may remain to support it. Longest studies -- over 40 yrs and counting.

Expectations?: The real question here is 'what are your expectations?'. Dental implants are a tremendous benefit for many people, however, they are not the solution for inadequate hygiene and home care. If you are committed to maintaining the investment in your mouth, then i would absolutely recommend you consider dental implants, if possible. Keep smiling !

Dave for the implant: Implants are anchors for tooth ( teeth) replacements. Once the implant crowns or fixed implant bridge are placed, they will look, feel and function like your own. Your "slip in" teeth are false and bulky and foreign. Save for the implants, you'll be glad you did!
