A member asked:

I'm just wondering, if you're blind can you get surgery to be able to see again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on cause: Some causes of "blindness" are treatable. One of the most common causes of worldwide "blindness" is the simple need for a glasses correction. Cataract can always be treated to restore vision no matter how severe, unless there are other additional eye problems. Some retinal and corneal causes of blindness can also be helped medically or surgically. An ophthalmic exam is needed to know for sure.
