Very unlikely: Bariatric surgery is expensive ($15, 000+ depending on procedure), it's a clear, up-front cost, and those with morbid obesity often carry significant serious illnesses that increase the risk of problems and complications. Many are denied coverage because of their health. Many surgeons will work to arrange payment "package deals" with hospitals, but buying a policy just to get surgery is unlikely.

Insurance policy: All insurance companies offer coverage for bariatric surgery. However, you have to select a specific plan that includes benefits for bariatric surgery. If your health insurance is provided to you by your employer, they may not elect to pay for bariatric surgery coverage. If you are buying your own policy, read the fine print to make sure it is covered.
