Can't tell: Please call an orthodontist in your area and have him evaluate your bite, a specialist in this area is best suited to make this decision, if you have not had braces to align your teeth you need to do it before you can get a retainer.

What?: By "go" do you mean "get worse"? If so, that's an ongoing process. Permanent retainers have hygiene issues. Before committing to treatment, please see an overbite expert, and orthodontist, for evaluation of your malocclusion and treatment options. You'll be glad you did.
